Pomegranate
Technical name: Punica granatum.
The pomegranate tree is native to the region that extends from Iran to the north of the Himalayas in India, it has been naturalized in the Mediterranean area and introduced in South America, South Africa and Australia; cultivated in temperate and subtropical areas. It is a small tree up to 5m high, deciduous, more or less thorny, very branched.
The variety we use for export is Wonderful. It has large fruit, with a deep red external color. The Wonderful pomegranate tree bears one of the largest pomegranate fruits. The purple-red fruits have a red pulp inside and spongy, soft seeds that are chewy and tasty.
